There is currently a bug present in Color Tools 2.0 that comes with HyperCard 2.3.
This bug is only present on Power Macintoshes.
The bug description is as follows:
Create a stack on a Power Macintosh with PowerPC version of HyperCard and color it using Color Tools 2.0. Copy this stack over to another Power Macintosh via floppy or networks and open the stack with the PowerPC version of HyperCard. At this stage you will get operating system error of 11 ( Miscellaneous hardware exception ) and HyperCard will quit and/or your machine will crash.
I won't go into the details of the bug, but if you are interested it is floating around the internet newsgroups or on AOL.
What Color Tools 2.0 Fixer does:
This is a simple drag and drop application. You will need to drag a colored stack(s) onto the Color Tools Fixer that has been colored with Color Tools 2.0.
Color Tools Fixer will ask you for the location of the "Color Tools" stack that comes with HyperCard 2.3 ( don't use the one that came with 2.2 ). Pick it and that 's it, Color Tools Fixer will do the rest.
Note: You only need to do this once per stack that you have colored. Successive uses and colorings of the stack will not bring the problem back.
Who wrote it:
Color Tools Fixer was written by me, Chris Rudolph. I developed Color Tools 2.0 so you can blame me for the bugs in this application as well as the bugs in Color Tools 2.0. I will try to help out whenever I can.
